On most BMWs your keys live in one module — CAS on older cars, FEM/BDC on newer ones. Ship us that module and we program new keys to it on the bench. No tow, no dealer, no car sitting in a shop for a week.
On most BMWs and Minis, your keys live inside one security module: the CAS module on cars up to about 2013, and the FEM (front electronic module) or BDC (body domain controller) on newer cars. If that module holds your key data, new keys can be programmed to it on a bench — no car, no tow, no dealer visit. Ship us the module, we program your keys to it, and ship everything back. You plug the module in and the car starts.
The full step-by-step is on our mail-in module programming page. The short version: call first with your VIN so we confirm your exact module, then ship the module (and any key you still have, if we're adding a spare).
CAS1 / CAS2 / CAS3 cars (roughly 2002–2013):
CAS4 / CAS4+ cars (roughly 2010–2014):
FEM / BDC cars (roughly 2012–2019):
Model years shift by market and build date, and the newest G-series cars (2019 and up) are mixed — some can be done by mail, some honestly need the car in front of us. Call with your VIN and we will tell you straight which side yours falls on before you ship anything.
Both. If you still have one working key, send it with the module and we add your spare. If every key is gone, on the models above we can originate brand-new keys from the module itself. Either way the keys come back programmed — no extra dealer trip to "marry" them to the car.
Priced by model and module, quoted on the call before you ship. For most owners it lands far below the dealer's key price plus a tow. Also see our pages for Mercedes mail-in keys & EIS and Range Rover mail-in keys.
