Module Cloning by Mail — Your Car's Data, Moved to a Good Module

Your car's computer module died, and a used replacement won't start the car on its own — the car doesn't know it. Ship us the failed original and a good donor module: we copy everything into the donor on the bench — keys, VIN, immobilizer data — and ship it back ready to install.

What Cloning Is

When a computer module dies, the part itself is often the easy problem — used replacements are cheap and everywhere. The hard part is that the car does not know the replacement: the VIN, the immobilizer data, and your keys all live in the original module. Cloning fixes that. We copy all of the data out of your failed original module — keys, VIN, immobilizer/security data, configuration — and write it into a good donor module. The car treats the donor as its own original module, because as far as the car can tell, it is. Your existing keys keep working — no key reprogramming is needed, because the key data comes along with everything else.

Modules We Clone by Mail

  • ECU / PCM / DME (engine computers) — your car's complete data moved into a good used unit.
  • TCM (transmission control modules) — including the Mercedes 722.9 transmission control unit.
  • BCM (body control modules) — including GM and Nissan BCMs, and the Subaru BIU (Body Integrated Unit).
  • BMW CAS modules — your key data and car data transferred into a good CAS.
  • Mercedes EIS (electronic ignition switches) — a failing switch's data cloned into a good used EIS, keys included.
  • Immobilizer and anti-theft modules — on many makes, depending on the module.

How Mail-In Cloning Works

  1. Call first — (678) 616-2333. Have your year, make, model, and VIN handy. We confirm that your module is one we can clone and tell you exactly what to ship, before anything goes in a box.
  2. Ship BOTH modules to us. Send the failed original — even if it is damaged, its data is often still readable — together with the good donor module the data will be copied into. Pack both well, insure the package, and put a note inside the box with your name, phone number, return address, and the car's year, make, model, and VIN.
  3. We copy and verify on the bench. Your original's data is read, written into the donor, and verified before anything leaves.
  4. Everything ships back, tracked. Install the donor. Because it carries your car's own data, in most cases it plugs in and the car starts on your existing keys.

Where to ship (call first — please do not send a module without talking to us):

The Honest Part: When Cloning Can't Work

Cloning needs the original module's data to be readable. If the original is too far gone — severe fire damage, a destroyed memory chip — the data may not come out, and cloning won't be possible. We check the original when it arrives and tell you straight away, before the job is charged. If cloning can't work, the fallback is programming the replacement module to the car — see our mail-in module programming page — and we will talk through that option with you first.

Who Uses This Service

  • Repair shops and independent mechanics who can turn wrenches but do not own dealer-level programming tools.
  • Used-car dealers and lots with a car down because of a module or key problem.
  • Owners far from a dealer — or facing a dealer quote for a new module when a used one plus cloning costs far less.
  • Owners anywhere in the US. Our mobile key service covers Metro Atlanta; this mail-in service covers the whole country, because the module travels instead of the car.

What It Costs

Cloning is priced by the vehicle and the module, so we quote each job on the call — before you ship, with no obligation. The math that makes this service worth it: a used module plus professional cloning usually lands far below the dealer's price for a brand-new module and their programming fee, and your car keeps its original mileage, VIN data, and key setup — the donor module carries all of it.

Dead Module? Call Before You Ship.

Two minutes on the phone tells us whether your module can be cloned — and exactly what to put in the box.
